Sarah Abelson is a Mental Health Counselor and works as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) on our Integrated Behavioral Health team. BHCs at Community Care Physicians are licensed mental health providers and social workers. Many are embedded within our practices working side by side with your doctor and health care team in delivering you the best “whole person” healthcare possible. Sarah is a member of the American Counseling Association.

Even as a child, Sarah has always wanted to help others, and she believes the mental health field found her. She pursued behavioral health to be a part of a team and to be able to help people receive timely access to behavioral health care! Sarah’s favorite part is meeting patients and giving them tools that help them succeed and make a difference in their lives.

What Sarah finds most important is making sure she meets the patient where they are and using collaborative, strengths-based approaches to empower patients. In addition, she is a great listener and wants to hear what’s going on so she can help.

Sarah enjoys spending time with family and friends in her spare time, being a dog mom, coaching, taking photos, and traveling.
