Jamie Sansivero is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and works as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) on our Integrated Behavioral Health team. BHCs at Community Care Physicians are licensed mental health providers and social workers. Many are embedded within our practices working side by side with your doctor and health care team in delivering you the best “whole person” healthcare possible.
Jamie decided to pursue the behavioral health field during her undergraduate career while working at a local after-school program and volunteering as a Big Sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ulster County. During those months, she was able to see how influential having a mentor could be in a person’s life, which led her to research more careers in the field, and ultimately decide to pursue a master’s degree in counseling. Jamie loves having an impact on the daily lives of individuals. In particular, seeing the smiles on their faces when they grow in ways they never thought possible.
One of Jamie’s most important things when caring for her patients is listening to their needs and having open communication. She enjoys hearing what their goals are and where they hope their lives will improve with counseling.
During her spare time, Jamie enjoys running and training for marathons. Her goal is to run the Boston Marathon! She is also a board member of the Junior League of Albany.
