Catherine Lesson is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner and a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association. She received her Master of Science from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York, and her Bachelor of Science from SUNY Plattsburgh in Plattsburgh, New York. Catherine has experience working with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance use disorder, and schizophrenia. She worked at an out-patient mental health clinic through a local hospital and an in-patient psychiatric coverage with consultation, providing care to patients in their own homes.
Catherine is naturally curious about people and has a desire to help them reach their highest potential. She feels privileged to meet people where they are and speak into their lives. Her favorite memory is meeting an elder woman suffering from hallucinations, tapering her off unnecessary medications, and working with her primary care provider to correct her sodium. Catherine’s favorite part of her job is meeting people where they are and encouraging them to better their health.
Catherine volunteers at the Alight Care Center, a pregnancy resource center in Troy. Here she is the Lead Instructor for the Attitude Up course, an educational program about stress and anger management. Outside of work and volunteering, she enjoys the great outdoors and camping with her extended camp family.
