Alexandra Olsiewski is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner on our Integrated Behavioral Health team. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners at Community Care Physicians work side by side with your doctor and behavioral health care team, assisting with medication management for behavioral health issues and delivering you the best “whole person” healthcare possible. Alexandra received her Master of Science in nursing from The Sage Colleges in Albany, NY, and earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY.
Alexandra has experience treating various conditions and disorders, including anxiety/panic disorders, trauma and stressor-related disorders, borderline personality disorder, depressive disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, insomnias, bipolar, disruptive, impulse-control, and conduct disorder, neurodevelopmental disorder, schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders, somatic symptoms, elimination disorders, gender dysphoria, medication-induced movement disorders and other adverse effects of medication. Alexandra specializes in medication management specific to these conditions and disorders.
Furthermore, Alexandra has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She worked in crisis intervention/ER services and gained expertise in therapeutic foster populations, shelter populations, and residential treatment centers.
Alexandra has always had an interest and passion in psychology since she was a teenager. She decided to pursue this field when she started college at Hudson Valley Community College. Alexandra then discovered her love for bedside nursing and being able to connect with individuals and their families on an intimate level. She wanted to advance her career and provide the utmost care. Alexandra loves connecting with individuals and families, learning about people’s stories, and hoping to provide positive and impactful care to each individual.
Alexandra enjoys horseback riding and taking lessons, reading and crafting, and spending time and adventuring with friends and family in her spare time. She has a newfound interest in restorative yoga and meditation.
