Urgent Care Centers at Community Care Physicians P.C.

Access is one of the most important aspects of quality health care. Community Care Physicians is committed to providing you with the care you need when and where you want it- during the day, evenings, weekends and holidays.

We understand that illnesses or injuries happen unexpectedly, often with the most inconvenient timing. Patients or caretakers cannot always access a family physician when most needed. In addition, at times, it is not possible to get an appointment with a busy, booked doctor’s office.

Community Care Physicians’ Urgent Care Center is designed for these situations that require immediate attention, but aren’t life threatening enough to be worth a visit to the emergency room. Our Urgent Care Center provides walk-in service every day with less waiting time, less cost, and more convenience than a typical hospital emergency room.

You never need an appointment and we treat patients of all ages. We also accept most major insurances. Whether you have a runny nose, a sore throat, or need attention for a minor injury or illness, our practitioners and staff at Urgent Care can help you – just walk in!

We participate with most major insurance plans. Our Urgent Care Center also has access to lab and imaging services on-site during certain business hours.

When urgent, but non-life threatening illnesses or injuries happen, think Urgent Care. Our Urgent Care Center is staffed by board certified family physicians, certified physician assistants or nurse practitioners. Urgent Care sees patients of all ages, with one exception – we don’t see newborns under 3 months old with fever. Our services include, but are not limited to:

  • Allergies
  • Colds
  • Flu symptoms
  • Infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Upper respiratory issues
  • Sore throat
  • Strep throat
  • Runny nose
  • Minor injuries
  • Rule out fractures
  • Sprain and strains
  • Stitches
  • Rashes
  • Allergic reactions
  • Gastrointestinal issues
  • Headaches
  • Bites and stings
  • Cuts and scrapes repair
  • Lab services
  • Imaging services are available during our daytime business hours at Latham Urgent Care. X-ray is also available most evening and weekend hours. Please note, X-ray is not available on holidays. Each imaging test is reviewed by Community Care Physicians’ sub-specialized radiologists from ImageCare Medical Imaging.
  • Low cost immigration physicals - Community Care Physicians’ Urgent Care Center has USCIS-certified physicians to perform immigration physicals, including labs, immunizations and the completion of all required forms – all in one location without the hassle of waiting.
  • COVID care and testing - Latham Urgent Care sees patients for COVID-related respiratory symptoms. If it is determined in the visit that testing is needed, we will perform COVID-19 diagnostic molecular testing (including rapid molecular testing following our testing guidelines), strep and flu testing at the time of the visit during business hours. We also draw labs for serology in the Urgent Care practice

Our Latham Urgent Care Center provides COVID-19 antibody testing and COVID-19 diagnostic lab testing to those who meet CDC-based screening criteria, but you must have an Urgent Care encounter first.

Community Care Physicians offers our patients COVID-19 (PRC) diagnostic testing at our testing center in Latham by appointment and antibody testing (a blood test) in our offices by appointment. However, as a physician laboratory, CCP is not permitted to do any kind of lab testing on a person who is not our patient. People who are not CCP patients may become patients through our primary care offices or through our urgent visit center in Latham. Latham Urgent Care Center can be used as a portal of entry into our system for non-CCP patients, which is becoming increasingly important as we expand our testing capabilities for COVID-19 for our patients. You can walk into our Urgent Care Center in Latham, NY, have an encounter, and that would make you a patient to get COVID-19 diagnostic testing and antibody testing if clinically warranted.

Urgent Care is a medical practice, not a testing center. We test only CCP patients for whom we assume complete responsibility for diagnostic assessment, testing, reporting and management. This entails an office visit, not just a COVID test, to enable us to fulfill our role in diagnosis and management. We need to evaluate why you need the test and we take responsibility for what you do after the test. We accept most major insurances. Uninsured patients who wish to establish with CCP are billed discounted rates for their clinical encounter.

Our Urgent Care can be used by anyone in the greater Capital Region for walk-in care. We follow particularly strict infection control procedures during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) pandemic due to the nature of care we provide.

With our diagnostic services onsite, you can be sure that you get the care you need, right when it's needed—no appointment necessary. We'll even coordinate care with a primary care doctor or specialist if needed.

CCP Urgent Care Centers are not a substitute for emergency care.

For life-threatening problems, use a hospital-based emergency department.
