Dr. Luis Daniel Diaz is a bilingual family physician, fluent in Spanish. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Dr. Diaz served in the U.S. Army before completing a family medicine residency at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. He began his studies at the University at Albany in Albany, NY, earning his Bachelor of Science in biology. Dr. Diaz has a particular interest in disease prevention, especially for cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease, and mental health.
Though Dr. Diaz was born in Fort Gordon Army base, he has called Clifton Park, NY home for the last 25 years. Some of Dr. Diaz's earliest childhood memories are of him accompanying his father, Dr. Miguel R. Diaz, while he provided free medical care to the underserved. He cites this as a major inspiration in pursuing a career in medicine. He enjoys forming close relationships with his patients and believes a deep appreciation of each patient's value system is key to providing exceptional care. Dr. Diaz strives to provide full-spectrum Family Medicine care, including Suboxone management and Medical Cannabis/Marijuana.
In his spare time, Dr. Diaz volunteers at the City Mission, the Bethesda House, and Migrant free clinics, where he provides care for the underserved. He also enjoys weight training, traveling, and outdoor adventures with his two puppies, Archie and Louie.
