Down Syndrome for Parents: Here's What to Know

At CapitalCare Developmental Pediatrics, we wish to help individuals with Down syndrome to be healthy, productive people using all their gifts and capabilities. Our team will help with the complexities that can go along with Down syndrome, especially in the medical, emotional, developmental, and educational areas of a person's life.

Parents, what will the first year of life be like for a baby with Down syndrome? What kind of support and care do they need? What is it like being a sibling of a child with Down syndrome? We can help.

We work with newborns to 21-year-olds. You can expect a full explanation in a way families can understand that will help them see the "big picture" when caring for their own child. For more information on what Down syndrome is, the signs of Down syndrome, and more, visit our blog titled "Education." Interested families may call for appointments at 518-782-7733. You will be scheduled for an initial assessment and discussion with our care team.
