Dr. Krista Morales is a board-certified family physician and a member of the American Medical Women's Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Albany Medical College, New York, and completed a family medicine residency at Albany Medical Center, New York. As a third-year medical student, Dr. Morales was introduced to family medicine during her training with Dr. Steffani Cotugno at CapitalCare Family Practice Clifton Park. It was then that she felt called to primary care for its commitment to preventive medicine and continuity of care.
Dr. Morales earned her Bachelor of Science in biology from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh. After college, Dr. Morales developed a deep appreciation for scientific research as a research assistant at the New York State Department of Health in Albany, New York. The combination of science with the physician-patient relationship served as the inspiration for her to pursue a career in medicine. She has particular interests in women's health, including contraceptive care and in-office intrauterine device (IUD) placement, pediatrics, newborn care, preventative medicine, behavioral health, weight management, and management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.
Dr. Morales' favorite part of being a doctor is getting to know her patients and families, their values and goals, and working with them to pursue their greatest state of health. When it comes to caring for patients, she believes listening to her patient's concerns is most important.
Dr. Morales was born in San Antonio, TX, and raised in Ballston Lake, NY. She enjoys ballet, gardening, hiking, yoga, and spending time with her family and friends.
