Phoung Vinh, MD
Dr. Phuong Vinh is a bilingual medical doctor, fluent in French and Vietnamese. He is board certified in radiology and earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He began his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan where he was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree with a Double Major in Biophysics and Mathematics. Dr. Vinh completed a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Michigan Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in MRI at the University of Texas Medical Branch Hospital.
While in medical school, Dr. Vinh was most attracted to the diagnostic aspect of medicine, realizing that his technical and analytical background combined with a love of learning would allow him to offer unique insight to help patients. What he enjoys most about his work is working at Albany Medical Center and consulting with the various clinical and surgical specialists. He also enjoys teaching residents and medical students.
Dr. Vinh has a special interest in body imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, and women’s imaging. He enjoys working with maternal fetal medicine specialists by performing high risk obstetrics MRI and ultra fast fetal MRI to evaluate fetal anomalies.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Vinh enjoys living in upstate NY, taking in the four seasons with his wife. He also enjoys travelling, photography, reading, playing competitive tennis, and skiing.
Dr. Vinh practices radiology at Albany Medical Center and ImageCare Medical Imaging.
