Alison Sifflet is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) on our Integrated Behavioral Health team. BHC’s at Community Care Physicians are mental health providers, and many are embedded within our practices working side by side with your doctor and health care team in delivering you the best “whole person” healthcare possible.

Alison has experience in individual counseling, adult and adolescent. Her background includes working with anxiety, depression, stress management, trauma, crisis management, substance abuse, family and relationship stress. Alison worked as a Student Support Counselor at a charter school in Houston, TX, for seven years. She worked with middle and high school students supporting their social-emotional needs to assist in their academic success. Alison also worked as a Mental Health Consultant for EMERGE Fellowship in Houston, where she engaged in consultations with college counselors regarding the social-emotional issues of the students they served.

Working as a counselor within education was a significant reason for Alison to pursue continued behavioral health-focused work. When she reflects on her work with students, most of it was based around the concept of locus of control. Alison believes that helping them identify behaviors and actions that they could control despite the external factors around them was the intervention/skill-building work that showed them the most promise and hope. She says it helped them improve other areas of their lives, such as their academics and physical health, and provided them a sense of agency that we all desire to feel and achieve. Alison loves having the ability to meet with so many different patients with various needs/concerns and offer them a space to feel heard and understood, even if it’s for one session.

Alison is a singer/songwriter and has been since she was a teenager! She performs locally and is also a member of a wedding band.
