Laura Engelbrecht (Bolan), MPH, PA-C
Laura earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, with a minor in sociology. She proceeded to achieve her Master of Public Health degree, with a concentration in social behavior and community health, from the State University of New York at Albany, School of Public Health. She continued her education by earning a second Master of Science degree, completing the Physician Assistant Program at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Laura is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the New York State Society of Physician Assistants.
Laura found her passion for helping others through her work in public health. She was inspired to have more of a direct impact on people's lives, leading her to pursue a career in medicine. Laura believes in active listening with patients to make sure they understand their health and diagnoses. Her favorite part of her job is when she gets to see her patients succeed in their own health goals. Laura also has an interest in women’s health and mental health.
In her free time, Laura enjoys running and spending time with her family. She is a member of the SPAC Junior Committee, dedicated to raising funds for the arts. Additionally, she volunteers on several committees through the New York State Society of Physician Assistants.
