Sarah Abraham O'Leary is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York. She comes to Community Care Physicians, P.C., after nearly a decade working in patient care and health education. Sarah received her Master of Science in nursing education from Excelsior College in Albany, NY, and her post-master's certificate as a family nurse practitioner from Sage Graduate School in Troy, NY. Sarah worked at Albany Medical Center as a registered nurse for ten years, working in the emergency department, labor and delivery, and postpartum. She also taught in the associate's and bachelor's nursing programs at Maria College while completing her own training. Educating the next generation of registered nurses remains a passion for Sarah!
Sarah's favorite part of working in family medicine is fostering a collaborative partnership with her patients. When providing care, she finds it crucial to view the patient as a whole and give them emotional support. Sarah has a particular interest in caring for postpartum women, newborns, and pediatric patients. In addition, she is a Certified Lactation Counselor and enjoys sharing the breastfeeding experience with her patients.
Sarah is a fitness enthusiast and loves spinning, but notes that she probably gets the most exercise chasing around her four kids! Originally from East Greenbush and a resident of Voorheesville, Sarah spends time as a room parent and PTA member at the local elementary school. She feels exceptionally fortunate to work in the community where she lives!
