Dr. Catherine Smitas graduated from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with a bachelor's degree in history and science. She pursued her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, and completed her residency in general internal medicine at Brown Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island.
Her previous experience includes serving as an attending physician at Rhode Island Hospital and as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Brown School of Medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Smitas is passionate about preventative health care. She wants to ensure her patients are fully vaccinated and up to date on important screening tests like mammograms, bone density, and colonoscopy.
Aside from providing exceptional care to her patients, Dr. Smitas enjoys spending time with her children and being active within the community and outdoors. In particular, she enjoys skiing, jogging, and volunteering at her children’s school as well as her church.
