Interventional Care - Interventional Radiology

Community Vein Care at Community Care Physicians, P.C.

Current Clinical Trials

The Interventional Radiology Group  is participating in several clinical trials, including:
  1. Therasphere for the Treatment of Metastatic Liver Cancer
Patients 18 and older who have cancer that has spread to the liver.  Patients will undergo evaluation to assess your medical status  in order to proceed with treatment of Theraspheres.  Theraspheres consist of millions of tiny glass beads that have radioactive Yttrium-90 and are injected into the main artery of your liver and delivered directly into the liver tumor via its blood vessels

  2. A Humanitarian Device Exemption Use of Therasphere for Unresectable Hepatocellular Cancer
Patients 18 and older who have cancer that arises in the liver.

  3. A Random-Assignment Study of Hepatic Arterial Infusion of Melphalan with Venous Filtration via Peripheral Hepatic Perfusion (PHP) vs Best Alternative Care for Ocular & Cutaneous Melanoma Metastatic to the Liver (NCI)
Patients 18 and older who have melanoma that has spread to the liver.  Patients will undergo evaluation to assess medical status in order to proceed with treatment.  If  eligible, patients will be “randomized”  (randomly chosen) to receive either treatment with chemotherapy directed into the liver or Best Alternative Care (treatment chosen by your doctor)

  4. Investigational Plan for the CRUX Biomedical Evaluation of the Crux  Inferior Vena Cava Filter System
Patients 18 and older at high risk for developing a Pulmonary Embolism or blood clot in the lung.  This filter is placed in the main central vein in the body (Inferior Vena Cava) to help capture clots that may go to your lungs.  This filter may also be removed

  5. Evaluation of the CatFinder Navigational Device in Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter Placement
Patients 18 and older who require a PICC  for IV access.  Patients who require placement of a PICC catheter will undergo evaluation with the CatFinder device to assess the accurate placement of the catheter.

  6. A Prospective, Randomized, Concurrently-Controlled Post-Approval Study of the FLAIR Endovascular Stent Graft (RENOVA Study)
Patients 18 and older who utilize an AV graft for dialysis.  Patients will be randomly assigned to receive either balloon angioplasty alone or balloon angioplasty with placement of the FLAIR  stent graft.

  7. Prospective  SecurAcath Subcutaneous Securement Trial
Patients 18 and older who require placement of a PICC or implanted catheter for IV access.  Patients having placement of a PICC or implanted catheter will utilize this new device to secure it to the skin to minimize the risk of displacement of the catheter and potentially decrease the risk of infection.
