Originally from Georgia, Dr. Spath received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University. She went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. Dr. Spath is certified in Internal Medicine. Along with a passion for internal medicine, Dr. Spath has a special interest in physical and emotion wellness to include exercise and mindful wellness. She also speaks several different languages including Hindu and Punjabi.
Dr. Spath decided she wanted to pursue a career in medicine when realized she initially wanted to be the person there for you when you get sick. She explains that her pediatrician was a wonderful doctor and she aspired to be like him. She describes her favorite part of the job being the long-term relationships she gets to have with patients and watching families grow. She also enjoys spending time engaging in her community, she participates in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as well as the Ronald McDonald House.
When Dr. Spath isn’t working she enjoys staying active by running, weight lifting, and also enjoys gardening, hiking, and camping. She also enjoys DIY home improvement projects and tuning into her musical side by jazz singing and playing piano and guitar.
