Emily relocated to the Capital Region from Washington DC to pursue graduate education and a career in mental health counseling. She worked for a number of years, both domestically and abroad, in the fields of international development and public diplomacy before transitioning to the mental health field. For Emily, a career in counseling was a logical fit as she always had an innate interest in understanding the complex human experience and what motivates both behavior and behavioral change.
Emily has found that a direct and genuine approach to treatment, coupled with a good sense of humor, is a productive way to foster a strong therapeutic relationship and lasting therapeutic change.
Outside of work, Emily loves spending time with her husband and daughter – being outdoors, traveling, watching movies, and trying new restaurants.
